Climate
Expect high thermal amplitude. Even on warm days (77°F / 25°C), temperatures drop sharply at night in the high altitude (40°F / 5°C). Always pack layers.
Some highlights reach over 12,000 feet. We recommend a slow pace and staying hydrated to acclimate comfortably to the "Puna" (highlands).
Best time to visit
March to November. These months offer dry, sunny days. Summer (Dec-Feb) is the rainy season, which can occasionally affect mountain roads.
Duration
Stay at least 4 to 5 nights to cover the Salta-Jujuy loop. Add more if you plan to continue south to the wine regions.
