More tips and information about Ushuaia

Climate
Expect "unpredictable" weather. Even in summer, temperatures hover around 50°F (10°C). The city is shielded from the harshest polar winds by the mountains, but a waterproof jacket is essential.

Best time to visit
Year-round. Summer (Oct–March) offers 18 hours of daylight, perfect for trekking and Antarctic cruises. Winter (June–Sept) is a snow-covered paradise for skiing and winter sports.
Duration
Stay 2 to 3 nights for the local highlights. If you are joining an Antarctic cruise, we recommend arriving 1 or 2 nights early to ensure a seamless departure.

Must-see Experiences
Tierra del Fuego National Park: The only park in Argentina where the mountains, forests, and sea converge. Perfect for scenic hikes and breathtaking coastal views.
The Beagle Channel Navigation: Sail past sea lion colonies, nesting cormorants, and the iconic Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse—often called the "Lighthouse at the End of the World."
End of the World Train: Follow the historic route of the former prisoners’ train through spectacular landscapes into the heart of the National Park.
King Crab Gastronomy: A culinary "must." Indulge in fresh Fuegian King Crab (Centolla), a local delicacy renowned worldwide for its flavor and quality.
The Gateway to Antarctica: Even if you aren't sailing south, visiting the pier to see the massive expedition ships is a reminder of Ushuaia’s role as the guardian of the frozen continent.
