Day 1: Trelew – Puerto Madryn

Arrival in Trelew airport to pick up the rental car.

Day 2: Peninsula Valdes Tour with whale or marine fauna watching

During this tour we will explore the whole Península Valdés visiting Puerto Pirámides and making stops at Caleta Valdés, Punta Del Cantor and Punta Norte to see the varied marine fauna and different protected species that inhabit the peninsula.
One of the highlights of this tour is Puerto Pyramids, where we can choose to do whale watching some other type of marine fauna, depending on the season

Day 3: Visit Estancia El Pedral – Penguins Colony

This day will be one of the most exciting! Visiting El Pedral, an authentic Patagonian estancia we will see a Magellanic penguin colony on the shores of it. A guided tour between their nests will give us the opportunity to know better these curious animals.

Day 4: El Pedral – Bahía Bustamante

We will leave Pedral to travel 350 kilometers to arrive at Bustamante Bay (Bahia Bustamante), a Patagonian lodge surrounded by pure nature with white sandy beaches and crystal clear water. Remote and exclusive this lodge is part of the Southern Patagonia National Park and the Blue Patagonia Biosphere Reserve.

Day 5: Bahia Bustamante. Fauna and Nature

Today we can fully enjoy the lodge and the different activities. We can choose between sailing to spot marine fauna or take a historical tour of the famous seaweed town, among other activities.

Day 6: Bahia Bustamante.Outdoor Life

Today the adventure continues: visiting a petrified forest, spotting a penguin colony, enjoying a picnic or just relaxing on the beach are some of the possibilities offered by this natural enclave.

Day 7: Bahía Bustamante – Trelew

After saying goodbye we retrace our path. Return to Trelew with carrental drop-off at the airport.

This tour explores Valdés Peninsula (World Heritage Site) and its unique wildlife. We depart from Puerto Madryn at 7:30 am for a full day of wildlife viewing.

Our first stop is the Carlos Ameghino Isthmus Interpretation Center to learn about the area's flora, fauna and geology, with panoramic views of Nuevo Gulf, San José and Bird Island.

We then visit Puerto Pirámides, where you may optionally embark for whale watching (seasonal). We continue by land to Caleta Valdés, Punta Cantor and Punta Norte to observe elephant seals, penguins and sea lions (order may vary due to weather/tides).

Orcas can be spotted at Punta Norte (March-April) and occasionally at Caleta Valdés (September).

We return to Puerto Madryn at day's end.

This tour combines adventure with close encounters of elephant seals, sea lions and Magellanic penguins, including lunch at El Pedral ranch.

We depart from Puerto Madryn, traveling 70 km through Patagonian steppe to Punta Ninfas (southern end of Nuevo Gulf) to observe breeding colonies of elephant seals and sea lions.

We then continue to the historic El Pedral ranch (built in 1923 with European materials). We'll take a guided walk through the nearby Magellanic penguin colony.

Enjoy a barbecue lamb lunch with salads, dessert and coffee at the ranch's quincho (outdoor grill area). Afternoon includes pool time, lawn bowling, walks, or Welsh cake with tea/coffee before returning.
